The pharmacist will speak to you about your health condition and discuss with you what treatment you might need. You will be asked questions about your symptoms, including which medicines you are taking and information about your illness. When you start taking a medicine for the first time it can be a daunting and confusing experience. At Thorpe Pharmacy we can help you through this by providing you with advice and support through the New Medicine Service.
The NHS New Medicine Service can help you if you have been newly prescribed a medicine to treat one of the following conditions:
It is a consultation between you and the pharmacist to discuss any concerns you might have about your medicines - for example side effects. It can take place over the telephone or in the consultation room at Thorpe Pharmacy. The first consultation will probably take about 15 minutes. You’ll get a telephone call a couple of weeks later (or call in to Thorpe Pharmacy) to resolve any outstanding issues – or you can at that point be referred back to your GP if you decide you need more help.
Remember - this service is FREE on the NHS and appointments are not always necessary.
To arrange an appointment or a telephone consultation please call us on 01924 871 593 or come in and see us.
